These Immunity Gummies are both refreshing and nourishing and loved by the whole family. They are very easy to make and pack a punch nutritionally with natural ingredients to support immune health and overall health and wellbeing.
They have a citrus flavour using fresh orange and fresh lemon juice and a hint of fresh ginger (optional). Naturally sweetened with Manuka honey they contain no refined sugars with a nutritional boost by adding Arctic Cod Liver Oil.
To make these Immunity Gummies you will need:
Freshly squeezed orange juice – the best quality orange juice is freshly squeezed, otherwise look for a brand with no added preservatives, added sugar and ideally not made from concentrate.
Freshly squeezed lemon juice – fresh is best when it comes to lemon juice. Both for flavour and nutritional quality. Most pre-bottled lemon juice contains the preservative sulphite, also known as sulphates or 220.
Freshly grated ginger – use fresh for this recipe. Simply peel off the skin from a 1cm piece and use a microplane to finely grate. When finely grated you don’t need to strain however if preferred you can strain your juice mixture through a fine sieve prior to adding honey as per the recipe below. The amount used in the recipe is small, if you love ginger add more to liking or if you are making this recipe for young children with fussy palates you can reduce or omit.
Manuka honey – Manuka honey is well-known for its immune health properties. Using a high-grade Manuka honey it can support immune health and provide antibacterial properties.
*Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil– Derived from sustainably sourced 100% Wild Arctic Cod, Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil contains naturally-occurring vitamins and essential fats and nutrients. It is also known to support healthy mental function, heart health, eye health and support general wellbeing.
For adults use the Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil (Lemon) and for children use the Nordic Naturals Children’s DHA. Always read the label and follow directions for use.

How to Make
These Immunity Gummies are very easy to make and can be made in bulk too. I make these in made in advance and stored in the fridge so they are readily available.
To prepare the gelatin you first need to bloom it. To do this you simply add 1 cup water: 6 tbsp gelatin powder. Mix to combine and allow to stand for 5 minutes. The gelatin crystals will absorb the water and swell.
Meanwhile, to prepare your freshly squeezed orange juice and lemon juice, roll out the orange and lemon using some pressure under the ball of your hand. When you roll out the citrus under pressure you will release more of its juice and yield more juice. Squeeze out the juice of each.
Add the liquid ingredients, orange juice and lemon juice to a saucepan to heat. At this point add the grated ginger also. For best results using microplane to grate fresh ginger straight into the juice is easiest.
Once liquid is heated, add the bloomed gelatin and over low-medium heat continue stirring until the gelatin has completely dissolved.
Once the gelatin is completely dissolved turn off the heat to add the remaining ingredients. Transfer this liquid to a heatproof bowl or jug and allow to slightly cool down. This slows the heat of the liquid when we are adding Manuka honey and Arctic Cod Liver Oil, which are best not exposed to high heats to maximise their beneficial properties.
Lastly pour the liquid into silicone moulds and transfer to the fridge to set.

Love making these gelatin gummies on repeat!
Fabulous to hear!
It says serves 6 but these would be quite big gummies am I correct? I have silicone gummy worm mould (holds 4ml) and mini love hearts mould (holds 7ml) for my 3 year old (each mould holds about How many would you give per day?
You can pour the mixture into any size moulds you have. I have made these with both big and small moulds but the serving of 6 does refer to large gummies. The small kid-friendly gummy moulds are perfect. The recommended dose of Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil for kids 1-6 is 1/2 tsp per day. The full batch contains 1/2 tsp so your little one can happily enjoy up to this amount. Hope this helps.
I made a batch of these and the kids really like them so they are now a regular after school snack.
Great to hear! Gummies are a great idea for afternoon tea!
Can you use something other then cod liver oil?
Hi there, you can omit the Cod Liver Oil and the recipe will still work 🙂 The Cod Liver Oil serves as a nutritional booster to support immune health. There are still immune supporting benefit in the recipe without it too.
